Deep Root Gardens CSA EBT Program
Deep Root Gardens is excited to announce we will be accepting EBT as an optional payment plan for this year's CSA and for a la carte purchases of farm fresh eggs. It's important to us that fresh, local produce is available to everyone in South Dakota regardless of income and we're happy to do our small part to make that happen through this program.
Here's how it works: A $40 deposit will hold your share for the year. This deposit needs to be made with cash or a check and it will be refunded back to you at the end of the CSA season. To join, complete the Member Signup form (above) and send it in with your deposit. Then, bring your SNAP/EBT card with you when you pick up your vegetables each week. Instead of being charged the whole share amount at the beginning of the season, your card will be charged $19.35 every weeks from June 12th through October 2nd until you've paid the full amount for the share, which is $329 for SNAP members. Payment is made weekly as the USDA has a SNAP benefit rule that you need to get the food you paid for at the point of sale.
If you do not pick up your share for 2 weeks in a row, you will forfeit your place in the program and your deposit. If that happens, you will not be charged for the rest of the season nor will you continue to receive your share.
As a part of your membership, you will receive a weekly email with farm news as well as invitations to farm potlucks and field days. Additionally, you are always welcome to purchase eggs with your SNAP/EBT card. If you have any questions about this program, just give Danny a call at (605) 929-1061.

A Note about Risk
As a member of our CSA, you agree to share the risk of farming (weather & pests) along with us. Every season poses different weather conditions and challenges, and it can reflect in the contents of our CSA boxes. However, we take our job of providing food to CSA members with the utmost seriousness and do our best to mitigate those risks by growing a diversity of crops that are resilient to different conditions. In the case of a complete crop failure, we would do our best to obtain high-quality produce from another local farm to supplement our offerings.
